Lofoten
Lofoten’s harsh, jagged landscape is unlike anything I’ve experienced. At times it felt as if the sea and mountains were conspiring to overwhelm me all at once. Staying in a rorbu, fisherman’s cabins tucked along the water, seemed like the only way to truly experience the place.
One afternoon the wind refused to let up, making it impossible to do much beyond stay inside. I spent a few slow hours putting together what I affectionately called “a fisherman’s soup.” I’m admittedly not much of a cook, but what I lack in kitchen skills, I like to think I make up for with a creative eye.
