Buenos Aires

There’s something about Buenos Aires that’s hard to pin down. One moment, I’m surrounded by the grandeur of Recoleta’s architecture and elegant cafés. The next, I’m navigating the buzzing streets of Palermo, delighting in the vibrancy of its graffitied walls and exuberant occupants.

This city became special to me long before I set foot in it. When I was 19, I had decided to go to Rome to study abroad for a semester, and at the same time, my partner chose Buenos Aires. Separated by thousands of miles, I had heard many stories of this city during many of our typical FaceTimes.

Five years later, walking the same streets with my partner and our best friend, I tried to capture everything I once heard about. The light bouncing off weathered facades, the late afternoon energy in the city parks, the faded posters that whispered stories of revolution. Each of these photos were created in an effort to preserve the moments that made the city feel alive to me. Buenos Aires is a place I’m grateful to know, and I hope to find my way back soon.
